Farmers Crop Spoiled, Income of Whole Year is At Risk

Farmers of Purandar block, Pune are going through difficult times. They can not bear to see their crops getting spoiled at the field. The lockdown has shut the transport services due to which farmers are unable to sell their crops in the market.

In Aadachiwadi village fig is a traditional crop for local farmers. The income from fig ensures the livelihood of the local farmers for the whole of the year. This year fig was cultivated in 25 acres and not a single kilo has reached the market. The condition is identical of farmers who cultivated maize and green vegetables.

The farmers have requested the government to at least allow them a vehicle to transport their crops in the market of Pune or Mumbai.
